Oh… Mother’s Day… normally, it’s a time of year that all mothers are celebrated and rewarded for surviving the pains of childbirth… and raising… or in my case… dealing with… and more importantly… surviving the FAB Five’s holiday shenanigans!

Let me tell you… being a single mom, raising these 5 children of mines… there have been some trying times… and it’s been by the grace of GOD… that I have survived another year… For what?

Is this some type of sick joke?!? Who the heck made up this day?!? 

I betcha it had to be some man who thought it would be cute to honor his mom and she probably bragged about it to her neighbor who got on the phone and told her Sista circle… and...

We all know... that some women just have to be... keeping up with those dang Joneses and them... and... 

Now I’m sitting here trying to figure out how to fake my own death… and dreading the fact that on Sunday, May 14, 2017… mark the date Ladies…  I unfortunately...  once again… must pull out my ejnosillA's Mother’s Day Survival Kit!!!

Now… I know you are saying… what can be so bad about ejnosillA's Mother’s Days?!? Well… Sista Girl… let me tell you!

First of all, the oldest one… my beloved daughter… is going to get the shenanigans started! 

She’s going to come up with the bright idea of… and somehow convinces the other four that... “Let’s cook mom breakfast in bed...” is a great ideal!

While, I'm in my room trying to figure out my Mother's Day Escape Plan because I know that I told her... and now... them... individually... collectively... that... “All I want is a day of peace and quiet.” 

The same thing I tell them every year… for every holiday… because I know my health is in jeopardy!

See, what I mean is… although my daughter is brilliant, stylish and has grown into such a beautiful young lady… the kind that any mother would be proud of… she has one important flaw… SHE CAN’T COOK!

I don't care how many times I have shown her how to cook... basic things... she just can't cook!

I PROMISE YOU… I CAN’T TAKE ANOTHER YEAR OF THIS… undercooked, burnt or scorched… eggs, burnt and hard turkey bacon… crunchy pancakes… the house filled with smoke…oh my goodness... the aroma... just thinking about it... got my asthma trying to flare up... 

Just imagine for a minute... me pretending I'm sleep... wishing that I was dead...  and having to pretend that I really like the food… hecks… I should have won an Oscar by now… I can't afford to go to the E.R. to get my stomach pumped this year... please somebody... anybody... STOP LAUGHING... and Help Me?!?

What happened to the "GOOD OLE DAYS..." when she... and now them... would just bring mommy a card they made at school… or an ashtray… that started off as a coffee mug… but that’s not the point… I miss those days… 

Those safer days… those days that didn’t require me to be spending my whole Mother’s Day in the bathroom crying… GOD… WHY ME… ALL I WANTED WAS A PEACEFUL DAY OFF… Oh my… how time flies… AND NOW THIS DREADFUL HOLIDAY IS CLOSING IN ON ME!!!
